Knowing Ladybird needed a redesign of their major communication points, I started this project by developing a brand audit and researched complimentary visual themes and concepts for future communication materials. From there I created and presented research based design options for these communication points, all of which interrelating as a system.
The idea for Ladybird's website was developed from roadside country cafe menus, a concept that related to Ladybird's basecamp theme. I curated the photography from a recent photoshoot the restaurant produced and I found the illustrations in a vintage engraving collection to reinforce Ladybird's vintage inspired motifs. After developing the website, I created a tutorial for the staff about site maintenance.
The Ladybird menus list a large offering of items and required a minimal treatment of the design system I created for them. The dinner menu was already treated like a "survival guide" and per the client request I kept the structure and theme of the menu while greatly improving its clarity and styling.
